Over 4 billion transactions, one platform
Softglobal provides digital POS, wallet solutions and open banking services, facilitating over 4 billion transactions a year through its payment gateway and SaaS platform.
In this project, a data-intensive payment gateway with more than 600 screens on web and mobile was redesigned with a modern, user-centred approach.
An outdated UI on an ineffective information architecture
The UI didn’t meet modern usability standards. An audit revealed duplicate pages and redundant functionality, and product owners kept getting questions about where features were — a clear discoverability problem.
Interviews, benchmarks and a full audit
With no structured design or business documentation, I spent more than a month reviewing the platform with internal teams and mapped every existing flow by hand.
Competitors and industry leaders were analysed for common patterns, and a full UX/UI audit covered information architecture, usability, hierarchy and user flows — checked against users’ mental models.
A consistent, intuitive information architecture
A scalable, modern platform that made features easier to find and the whole experience easier to use.
View the full processWhat I did, in summary
- Mapped and documented all existing user flows.
- Audited undefined flows and analysed screens, connections and components.
- Redesigned the information architecture.
- Led stakeholder interviews and card-sorting tests.
- Built the company’s first design system, aligned with the brand.
- Iterated on UX and finalised the UI.
One system for 600+ screens
Foundations, components and patterns aligned with the brand identity, so every team could build consistent screens faster.
